Lauren O’Brien, CFP®, CPA is a Wealth Management Advisor on The O’Brien Team at LMA specializing in retirement planning, retirement income generation, wealth transfer planning, and investment management. She maintains the distinguished credentials of CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANER™, and in both 2015 and 2016 Lauren was nominated by industry peers and selected for the Northern Virginia Magazine’s Top Financial Professionals for the categories of Insurance, Retirement and Investment Planning.
Prior to joining LMA, Lauren worked as a financial advisor at Wells Fargo Advisors. Her expanded industry experience as a CPA includes working in client service with Deloitte in Chicago and India, as well as serving a global credit products team with Bank of America Merrill Lynch in London.
As a proud alumna of the University of Notre Dame, Lauren graduated Summa Cum Laud with a degree in Accountancy and promptly gained the CPA designation, earning the Illinois Excellency Award. Still connected to the university, she chairs the Notre Dame Women Connect chapter in DC and serves on the leadership team for the ND Alumni Club of DC; within that realm she designed and launched the Lessons in Leadership program to foster leadership development and networking among area alumni.
Lauren resides in Old Town Alexandria, Virginia where she actively engages in community development. She presently serves on the finance committee for The Campagna Center, an organization committed to providing children and families with a comprehensive set of tools to thrive and succeed. She served on the Board of Directors for the Alexandria Chamber of Commerce, previously chairing its Professional Women’s Network under which she launched its now annual Women’s Leadership Forum. For her community endeavors, she was recognized in 2017 as an honoree for Alexandria’s 40 Under 40.
An avid traveler, Lauren has visited all continents except Antarctica and aims to visit all 50 states. She loves to cook, attend wine tastings, and can be frequently found downtown for events and exhibits.
